The Affairs of Dragons by Takmarierah

When Charles sees the dragon on his balcony, he suspects that he’s losing his mind. When he starts hearing voices, he’s certain of it, and the realization that magic is real is little comfort when these newfound abilities threaten to destroy his life. He has no choice but to accept his enigmatic neighbor’s offer of training in exchange for a promise - that he will repay that favor, when asked to.

Like many promises in the world of magic, however, this turns out to have unexpected consequences.

 “How are you?” Charles shifts again, and he must be looking at the wounds because he hisses, sharp and birdlike, and there is a loud flap of feathers in the air that makes Erik want to weep, because Charles is still an angel and Erik is… not.

“Human,” he says, and turns his face away into the rough fabric of the cloak he’s been using as a pillow.

James, this all really blew my socks off. It’s all so beautiful, full of emotions and great composition. I adore the colours, they are so subtle and ethereal like their subject matter. Emma sitting waiting has to be my favourite image of her ever. I’m dying to read the story, Tah I’ll get there eventually ;)

Shaaaaaaa! Oh my gosh missy how did you ever find the time to colour all this detail, it’s just so rich and yet at the same time so soft. I love it all, from Jean giving Erik a helping hand with the tins, to the stark grey of the first image adding to the feel of danger. wonderful work, hun XD

She was sweet and brave enough to take on an unfamiliar prompt and did a FANTASTIC job with it. Her fic is more than I could have hoped for and you won’t regret reading it!

I think I screamed like a big girl when I saw this prompt, I’m a HUGE Silent hill fan. Mar this is brilliant, you really summed up the crawling horror of the series with the darkness and red sneaking in around the edges of your art. So atmospheric <3 I adore the picture of Charles staring out at us intently. I really can’t wait to read the story.
